Sometime loosely corresponding with the technolgy bubble bursting in 2000 or so, I (conveniently) decided that I'd like to use my energy to create tangible objects that I could use (play with) rather than focusing so much time on building Web sites that didn't even leave me with something fun when they went away.

In any case, I got interested first in trying to build a mandolin. What followed is what I (and many others apparently) think is a funny (laughing with me or at me?) adventure into luthiery. Have a look at my description and pictures of building F5 #1...

It may or may not be surprising after reading about F5 #1 that #2 went much better. Though I have my work cut out for me on the next one, I'm very happy with the results...

Not too long after F5 #2, I got the idea to build an electric. I went for a miniature version of a Telecaster style electric guitar. Check it out...

Most recently, I've decided to try to build a guitar. As a starting point, I'm doing the Marin D18 kit with a few embellishments to make it similiar to a D18V. I'll try to keep updated on the progress...
